We understand the importance of work-life balance, which is why our clinicians have the autonomy to manage their caseloads and schedules. We know that happy clinicians create the best outcomes for the families we support!
Meet Our Clinical Director
Hi! I’m Destiny Johnson, a proud Latina and Licensed Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (English/Spanish). I’m also the founder and clinical director of Multimodal Communication Speech Clinic P.C., where our mission is to make sure that every child—regardless of their background or diagnosis—has access to high-quality, compassionate, and culturally responsive care.
I’m incredibly passionate about what I do—so much so that I’m currently pursuing my Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology at Northwestern University. I'm constantly seeking new ways to grow, learn, and make sure that the families I work with are getting nothing less than the best care. I stay on top of the latest clinical practices and love being creative and innovative to meet each child and family where they’re at.
Beyond working directly with children and families, I also love sharing what I’ve learned with others in the field. I’ve presented at both state and national conferences on topics that are close to my heart—like bilingual language development, early intervention, supporting children with developmental language disorders, and helping clinicians use dynamic assessment to promote equity.
Here are a few of the presentations I’ve given:
-
CSHA Convergence 2024 – Dynamic Assessment in Bilingual Children for Equitable and Inclusive Change
-
ASHA Convention 2024 – Dynamic Assessment: Fostering Equity and Inclusion
-
CSHA Convergence 2025 – Diversity in Action: Embracing Diversity for Holistic Evaluation
-
CSHA Convergence 2025 – Dynamic Assessment: Embracing the Diversity of Varied Linguistic Experiences
-
CSHA Convergence 2025 – Navigating Diversity: Insights from the D&I Committee
My heart is truly in this work—from empowering families, to advocating for equitable service delivery, to mentoring others in the field. I’m passionate about creating impact—whether that’s helping a child thrive in therapy or mentoring a clinician who's learning to provide culturally responsive care. Supporting both families and professionals fuels the work I do every day.
